Kannan is Twenty years of age now. Like other boys of his age, he should also go to college, get high marks, excel to a good job, thus support his mother, Ushakumari P A.... These are the everlasting but diminishing dreams of a grim looking mother, who has dedicated her life for the care and nurture of Kannan. Why Ushakumari has to care Kannan,.. Well.. to answer all these questions, she has to reverse her memories, some 15 years back. As a woman, Ushakumari got married and had a male child. The named male child was named as Kannan. Few years after Kannan's birth, as they noticed that Kannan's eyes are reddish, they took him to Doctor, and the reports were were very discouraging, that Kannan is blind and chances of regaining the vision is impossible. Soon, her mother who was living with her also became ill. She was surviving with a meager income by doing some household jobs near her house since she has to take care of her old mother and her little kid. Years past, as she noticed that Kannan does not having normal growth and response as other kids of his age, she consulted the Doctor, after examining, Kannan's case was reffered for expert opinion. It was found that, Kannan's sense has complication due to major neurological problem and the treatment need huge funds since it's a long term treatment. Adding a great blow to the family, Usha's husband went absconding to escape from the situation. Although, may Philanthropists and well wishers are supporting the family, still they need a funds to lead a normal life. In the mean time, Ushakumari's mother also attained lotus feet of Almighty. They do not have an own shelter. Kannan's eyes are like a reddish balls now. He cannot talk properly. He shows some signs without any intention. He do not know to express his hunger or thirst. He is incapable of managing his own personal matters, It's all taken care by Ushakumari.
As of now Ushakumari is managing the affairs of Kannan despite many odd situations. She is working as an aya in a local primary school. When she is on her job, neighbors and well wishers of Usha's family will take care of Kannan.
